Responses From Other Students

To make my project successful, it makes sense to get some thoughts from the current year.  Using the Facebook community and interviewing people in the class, I managed to get some response from this question:

What do you feel is your biggest waste of time? Something you do to pass the time when there could be work to be getting on with.

Simon Cherry
  • Guitar
  • Youtube
  • Design Websites.  This one is interesting as it is putting procrastination to good use.
  • Pub

Sarah Roberts
  • Spends a lot of time outside.
  • Facebook/Skype

Max Gregory
  • Guitar
  • PS3
  • Daydreaming
  • Works better under pressure i.e last week.  Started to write to do lists.

Niall Cruickshank-Sutton
  • Makes his work silly and eventually irrelevant.

Sophie Wilson
  • Her boyfriend and other people are a huge distraction, but when she is on her own she feels she works well.
  • She writes lists everyday, and finds crossing off tasks a motivation in itself.

Will Cotterill
  • Will gave me a productive answer in telling me ways he tries to avoid procrastination.  He tidies his room, he feels that he can't do anything productive in mess.  He justifies in his mind what is really important and convinces himself work needs to be done.
  • He judges himself by others, which can backfire when the other person has no work done; it gives him peace of mind when he should be worried.
