Through The Mail

This is my mail shot after it arrived at college, going through the post.  It received minimal damage and was in relatively good condition.  The sticker kept the seal closed and everything was inside as it should be.  Overall, I have created a durable envelope and a sealing system that will not break when sent through the mailing system, which was the objective of this brief.  Above is the feedback I received for this work

Mail Shot - Finals

These are my finals printed and cut out, before they were folded in preparation to be sent via post to the college.  The red I chose has printed out really vibrant and eye-catching, which is the exact effect I was looking for.  I opted for a simple envelope design, which has been tried and tested by many companies in the past, to keep with the simple look of my final mail shots.  I would simply add some double sided sticky tape on the side tabs and fold it over to make the envelope.

After folding the envelope, I sealed it with the '1/224*' sticker I produced to give the letter a bit of originality and adding another point of viewing for this statistic: I want people to remember it.

Mail Shot Final Experimentation

Expanding on the '1/224' idea with the speech bubble, to add the effect that someone is telling you directly.  I experimented on the composition, layout and colour, as well as producing some potential stickers for recognition.

Mail Shot - Initial Experiments

This was my progress after the first week.  Although my style has been reflected from the 2:1 posters from the first week of 'No News', I don't think it works this time around on this scale.  The falling effect isn't as easy to accomplish and the overall image looks too busy on this scale.

I went for a different approach, keeping things simple.  Responding to my feedback from the crit, I compared him to a respectable profession: the doctor.  After finding some averages I compiled this list of statistics, but the one that stood out in my opinion was that Rooney earns 224 times the wage of the average doctor, with questionable merit.

Crit Feedback

No News Experimentation

This was my pin up idea that would feature controversial tips on how to be successful on the back side.  It would raise awareness to parents of what some 'role model' footballers are actually like.
Below follows the style of my 2:1 poster to keep consistency.

No News Poster Feedback

Final Designs - No News Is Good News

All designs stick to the 2 colours plus stock and have the same red.  My concept relates to the heaps of money footballers, not just Rooney, are getting each week.  The colours relate to Manchester United and the globe is coloured like a football to highlight the 'highest paid footballer in the world'.
